Two Ripples

A Journey of Connection, Exploration and Positive Change

I believe one of the most important aspects of your therapy is the therapeutic relationship that develops between you and me.

Our journey begins with me listening to your story to gain a deeper understanding of what is troubling you. To help with this process, I use a range of evidence-based therapeutic techniques that are specific to your needs and preferences.

This process offers support by fostering increased self-awareness, helping you to identify your unique needs and goals, determining desired changes, and developing effective coping strategies for ongoing challenges, all aimed at enhancing your overall wellbeing.

We share our time together in a safe, non-judgmental and supportive environment where you are valued and you will feel heard. Knowing that the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality are maintained throughout the therapeutic process.

My experience includes supporting individuals through bereavement, adverse child experiences, domestic and sexual abuse, trauma, PTSD, and difficult life events.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy takes a holistic view of clients by addressing mental, physical, and emotional needs, using techniques from multiple modalities tailored for you and your preferences.

Our sessions may incorporate elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Practices, and Compassion Therapy. This flexible approach ensures that your counselling journey is uniquely tailored to your preferences and changing needs, empowering you to move at your own pace and in the direction that feels right to you.

Trauma-Informed Therapy

Trauma-Informed Therapy is a clinical framework that acknowledges the impact of trauma on individuals. My practice implements Judith Herman’s Three-Stage Recovery Model:

1. The first stage focuses on creating a safe environment for the client and helping them regain a sense of control and stability in their lives.

2. The second stage focuses on processing the traumatic experience, acknowledging the pain and loss associated with it and beginning the grieving process.

3. The third stage focuses on clients reconnecting with themselves, their relationships and their environment and integrating the trauma into their life story.

This approach emphasises client safety and autonomy. Clients set the pace of therapy, and I understand and respect the complexities of trauma.

Humanistic Therapy

Humanistic therapy takes a holistic view, emphasising self-awareness, personal growth, and each person's unique potential and connection to the world.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation is a form of therapy that can be integrated into the counselling journey. It involves learning about and understanding mental health and well-being.

Person-centred Therapy

Person-centred Therapy is based on the view that every individual has the capacity and motivation for personal growth and change when provided with appropriate conditions.

I do not assume the role of an expert but offer unconditional positive regard, empathy, and congruence to support you in addressing negative feelings and thoughts, enabling you to pursue change and development in your own unique way.
